ATTENTION: Musicians in Queensland and over the border in Northern NSW.
After a few years’ hiatus, BASEQ is holding another Memphis Blues Challenge on Sunday, August 16 in West End.

For those who don’t know about its purpose, the musician (solo, duo or band) who is classed as the best performance on the day will have the opportunity to represent BASEQ and Queensland at the International Blues Challenge (IBC) held in Memphis, TN, USA the following year.

From past musicians who have been at the IBC, they say that it’s the best experience mixing with other overseas musicians and that they learn a lot to further hone their craft.

Next year the IBC will be held on January 19 – January 23, 2021. BASEQ supplies funds to cover some of the costs of airfares and accommodation.

We want to send out nomination forms in April to those musicians interested in entering the Challenge. So if you wish to enter please contact us at president@baseq.org.au and we will add your name to the mailing list.
