I went along to the monthly Sunshine Coast Blues Club jam last Thursday night at the Palmwoods Bowls Club. The place was hopping with their house band opening the evening at 7.00pm before the jammers got up and played. A lot of the jammers are regulars who come along each month but there are the occasional new faces.
The same with the crowd that attends. There are a lot of people who wouldn’t miss the monthly jam for the opportunity to catch up with friends, listen to live blues music and there’s a number of people who get up and dance. I saw some fine dancing going on too last Thursday night.
The Sunshine Coast Blues Club has been going for 13 years and has had a monthly jam for that long, although there have been a few locations over that time. They have been at the Palmwoods Bowls Club now for 3+ years and it’s all looking good to stay there a lot longer. Their jam is held on the first Thursday of the month.
