The sudden passing of well loved Gold Coast musician Frazer Goodman came as a shock to all. BASEQ would like to pay respect to this kind, gentle and talented musician by publishing here the thoughts of some of the people who knew him, with the acknowledgement that his passing has been felt by many more here in S-E Queensland, and indeed internationally.

From  Kevin Briggs

I sometimes lose my faith in humanity from all the ego, greed and selfishness that I witness in this world. And then someone like Frazer comes into my life that is egoless, generous in every way and often selfless. I continuously worked with Frazer because of the beautiful human being he was.

Kevin Briggs and Frazer

For the real connection of respect and love we had for each other and the love and respect he had for every human being I saw him interact with. Our conversations were rarely surface level and we shared many of the same beliefs in living a truly meaningful life leading with positivity, kindness and compassion.

The calmness under pressure I witnessed from him on many occasions was incredibly admirable. His acceptance and ability to tolerate and forgive bad behaviour from some people was astounding. In all my years on this planet I truly have never known anyone with the ability to forgive like Frazer had. This is a wonderful trait and I think one of the reasons he was so calm with difficult people. He gained peace and calmness through his ability to forgive.

He lead by example on how we should treat others in our daily interactions. Frazer contributed to my life in many positive ways and will be greatly missed.

It was an honour to be part of his life and also an honour (and emotionally challenging) to perform at his funeral service alongside some wonderful musicians.

Such a sad loss for a good mate… he always picked my brains in the keyboard department over the years and we had endless conversations and music gear swaps .. Musically he was a gifted guy…

Fagaloa Tugia  Frazer Goodman

Frazer was a great human being. He lived in truth, and love, for not just his family and himself but his friends, colleagues and Community too.

Born in New Zealand but calling Australia home he was undoubtedly a brilliant musician, producer, arranger and Entrepreneur.

A natural born talent for music in his blood, he trained under the guidance of The Berkeley College Of Music USA. The gave his awesome gift an extra edge that truly illuminated any song or tune.

He is loved and respected for not just his music but his integrity too. A man among men, to be admired and loved for all time.

I first met Frazer the day our dear friend Wiley Reed passed away. We were at Royal Brisbane Hospital. Frazer and I began a familiar bond that, which in my heart remains.

Frazer and I put together The Wiley Reed Tribute Band for Blues On Broadbeach 2013. The show was very well received and fully demonstrated Frazer’s World Class performance skills. Myself and others were very proud to be on stage with him at that time.

Frazer did many good gigs, and also was instrument in promoting others though Jazz shows on the Gold Coast. He will be fondly remembered for his support of great venues such at Rydges Hotel Brisbane, and latterly Den Devine in Broadbeach.
