Cooperation and determination by BASEQ’s Dillion James and the team at The Triffid brought live blues back to the centre of town!

With a very short lead time of two weeks, Dillion pulled together a “Who’s Who” of local talent featuring: Angela Fabian; Blind Dog Donnie; Donna Hourigan & The Lucky Lips Band; and his own Dillion James Band.

Harvey Blues; Norman Baquiran; and Matt “Dishpan Hands” Beagley, joined Angela & Dillion’s respective bands to form an “All Starr” jam band, leaving nothing in the tank behind both Angela and Blind Dog!  Hats off to The Triffid for walking the fine line between keeping their patrons COVID safe and giving them a night to remember.

Patricia Shaw sums it up in one quote: “Huge thanks to Dillion James & BASEQ for an amazing night of brilliant music! It felt so good to be out at a real gig again and hear the incomparable Angela Fabian perform again – her first gig since she was on The Voice (thanks sooooo much Ange!)

The legendary Blind Dog Donnie was in fine form doing himself and our much-loved West End proud! Harvey Blues got me at the first strum,
as usual!

Donna Hourigan and her band blew us away with her vocals & showcasing her young & very talented son on lead guitar; and of course the ever hard-working accomplished keyboard player Dillion James put his heart and soul into the whole affair.  Yours truly couldn’t keep still so mastered the art of crazy chair dancing, coming up with moves that I didn’t know I had in me!!!

Big thanks to the other wonderful musicians. You bring so much joy to so many.
We are blessed.

PS. Huge credit to The Triffid for their thorough Covid-safety organisation & great staff. We felt thoroughly spoiled.

PPS. So great too to catch up with lots of friends I haven’t seen in months!”
